Landmark - Based Safe Path Planningfor

چکیده
this paper addresses path planning with uncertainty for a car-like robot subject to connguration uncertainty. The robot estimates its conngu-ration with odometry and an absolute localization device based on environmental feature matching. The issue is to compute safe paths that guarantee that the goal will be reached in spite of the uncertainty. The solution proposed relies upon the automatic construction of a set of landmarks characterized by (1) a region of the connguration space, (2) thèbest' features for localization in this region, and (3) a perception uncertainty eld that measures how well a feature is perceived at each connguration in the region. The landmarks are used within an eecient roadmap-based path planning algorithm that returns a safe motion plan that alternates motion along safe paths and localization operations. A General Framework for Planning Landmark-Based Motions for Mobile Robots
Our work is focused on defining a generic approach for planning landmark based motion. The proposed geometric approach deals with robots of complex kinematic moving in cluttered environment. It aims at providing safe strategy of motion for such constrained conditions. The method consists in selecting automatically the most relevant landmarks along a pre-planned geometric path. It proposes a str...
متن کاملTopological Mobile Robot Navigation using Artificial Landmarks.dvi
One of the main goals of a household robot is to navigate in an environment in a safe way. Some prior work has addressed this assumption by using dead reckoning in combination with reactive behaviours to interact with unknown dynamic environment. This paper presents a mobile robot navigation system that uses a topological landmark based representation of the environment from which it is possibl...
متن کاملLandmark-Based Representations for Navigating Holonomic Soccer Robots
For navigating mobile robots the central problems of path planning and collision avoidance have to be solved. In this paper we propose a method to solve the (local) path planning problem in a reactive fashion given a landmark-based representation of the environment. The perceived obstacles define a point set for a Delaunay tessellation based on which a Traversal graph containing possible paths ...
متن کاملLandmark-Based Navigation and Path-Finding in Web Mining
We introduce a new method of Web relationship based on landmark identi cation and association. This allows us to improve the performance of searching relevant information in Web intelligent navigation. In order to be more convenient for users to nd and search Web information, we have developed an EMS Search Engine as opposed to the traditional search engines. The operations of EMS Search Engine...
متن کاملPiloting systems reset path integration systems during position estimation.
During locomotion, individuals can determine their positions with either idiothetic cues from movement (path integration systems) or visual landmarks (piloting systems). This project investigated how these 2 systems interact in determining humans' positions. In 2 experiments, participants studied the locations of 5 target objects and 1 single landmark. They walked a path after the targets and t...
